Exhibition at Snape Maltings and A Walk Towards Iken
While staying in one of Trish's delightful Suffolk Coastal Cottages, why not visit Snape Maltings? There are many attractions including an attractive walk beside the Alde River towards Iken where you might see white egrets and shelduck on the salt marshes. The maltings complex includes shops, art galleries, the concert hall book/gift shop/booking office and, near the Britten-Pears Recital Room, is the Lettering Arts Centre Gallery.
At the Lettering Arts Centre you can see the work of the UK's finest lettering artists, past and present. At this beautiful gallery in Snape Maltings you can see mixed media pieces in disciplines from calligraphy to letter carving.
Forthcoming exhibitions are:-
Michael Harvey - In His Own Words 25th March - 28th May: The life's work of an exceptionally gifted designer, graphic artist and letter designer who produced over 1,500 book covers and made numerous typefaces for Adobe.
Alan Kitching - A life in Letterpress 2nd June - 20th August: An exciting and dynamic designer who founded the Experimental Printing Workshop at Watford College in 1964 and runs London's Typography Workshop.
City & Guilds - Making It 25th August - 6th November: a collection of mixed media works from the City & Guilds of London Art School's 'Historic Carving' course.

The Lettering Arts Centre has a shop which sells beautiful hand-made lettered art works, in various media from stone to glass, for home and garden, designed and created by lettering artists. Here you may find a tangible reminder of your stay in Suffolk.
There is also a Commissioning Centre where members of staff can guide you to the right artist to interpret your ideas for art works to mark a special occasion or commemorate a loved one.
