Lorne Cottages sits in an unrivalled location. At the heart of Walberswick Village on the green, the cottage boasts glorious views of the sea and Southwold Harbour and beyond. Just moments from the beautiful sandy beach, 2 Lorne Cottages is a delightful two bedroom cottage, offering additional sleeping space in the attic.With direct access to the swings and slides on the green and situated a short walk from the village stores, The Bell Hotel and Anchor Inn close by, this is a cottage that is popular with families and couples alike.

Room By Room

Living room:

From the front door, you enter the cosy living room with comfortable sofa and chairs grouped around the woodburning stove. There is a TV /DVD, side tables and lamps. Lovely views out over the green.

Kitchen/dining room:

The living room flows directly through to the kitchen/dining room, providing a large open-plan space the length of the property. The kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A lovely wooden table and chairs is in the centre of the kitchen. French doors open out to the courtyard garden.

Cloakroom:

Downstairs cloakroom with WC, basin and hanging space.

Bedroom 1:

More delightful views from the master bedroom out to the sea. This attractive room has a double bed, bedside tables and lamps and an ornamental cast iron fireplace. There is a built in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Room for a cot.

Bedroom 2:

A twin bedded room, with bedside tables, chest of drawers and a wardrobe. A steep ladder staircase (with hand rope) provides access to a charming bedroom, providing accommodation for a further two individuals and revealing the most fantastic views out over the rooftops towards the sea and Southwold.

Bathroom:

A spacious room with vintage style roll top bath, painted floorboards, WC and washbasin.

Garden:

The rear courtyard garden is flanked by raised flower and shrub borders with a brick path. There is a garden table and benches, ideal for outside dining.

There is a small front garden with a bench, overlooking the village green.

NB: Bed linen and towels can be hired for £20 per single, £40 per double, , please ask when booking.

Local Area

Pub: There is the Anchor and the Bell Hotel, both in the village, for Adnams ales and they receive good foodie reviews. Many more pubs and restaurants in Southwold to walk to, or further along the coast by bike or car.

Shop: Village Co-op store five minutes walk away and local Black Dog deli open in summer season too.

Beach: Easy walk to Walberswick's sandy beach and famous crabbing bridge, or to Southwold beach via the Bailey bridge or local ferry in summer season.

Booking Conditions

  1. All cancellations must be notified in writing. The agent will endeavour to relet the cottage. If successful the client will be refunded, but if not all monies paid by the client shall be forfeited. We recommend cancellation insurance to cover this.
  2. A booking deposit of 25% of the rental fee is payable if the booking is made more than 6 weeks before the start of the rental. This deposit must be paid within 5 days of your booking. The balance of the rental cost is payable 6 weeks before the arrival date. For bookings made less than 6 weeks before the commencement date the full rental amount is required.
  3. Bookings run from 3pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure, unless stated differently on an individual property page. The client is responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order and in the same clean condition as they found it. The client undertakes to pay for any breakages or damage, requiring replacement or repair, and for any extra cleaning costs on departure. A Security Deposit of £150 is payable at the time when the balance or full payment is made for the rental, and will be refunded to you once the housekeeper’s check has been made on your departure
  4. Only those named on the reservation form may use the accommodation. Subletting or assignment is not permitted.
  5. The owners cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to client’s baggage or personal effects. We recommend insurance to cover this.
  6. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that equipment in the property is in working order, occasionally breakdowns occur. The client is requested to inform the owner should this happen, so repairs or remedial action can be initiated promptly.
  7. One well-behaved dog is allowed by prior arrangement with the agent, and the charge is £20 per week or short stay. A dog is not allowed on beds or furniture of a property and must not be left unattended at any time.
  8. Smoking is not permitted inside any property by law.
  9. It is the client’s responsibility to supervise children at all times. The owners accept no responsibility for any accident, injury or sickness howsoever caused.
